Albert W. Kirkpatrick, Sr.

              Albert “Mr. K” W. Kirkpatrick, Sr, 83 of Altoona died Thursday February 1, 2018 at home.

               He was born May 31, 1934 in Danville the son of the late Earl Robert and Esther (Kelley) Kirkpatrick, Sr. He married Prudence M. Chesney on July 14, 1958 in Altoona. She preceded him in death in June of 1989.

               Surviving are two children, Albert W. Kirkpatrick, Jr. and girlfriend Stephanie Moore and Kelly A. Chaplin and husband Thomas; two grandchildren, Kylee A. Meyer and Austin W. Kirkpatrick; and a sister Iva Forshey.

               He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.

               Albert was a 1954 graduate of Bellwood High School.

               He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

               He retired from the VA Hospital as a Chief Warehouse after 30 years.

               Al enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and hanging by his pool. He was a sports fanatic of the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State Nittany Lions. Al was a man of faith, he took time each day to read his bible.

               Friends will be received Tuesday February 6, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, where a memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Sandell officiating.
