Anna Marie “Dee” Ainsworth, 95 of Altoona died Monday morning October 23, 2017 in the Palliative Care Unit of UPMC Altoona.

            She was born March 25, 1922 in Osceola Mills a daughter of the late Hershel and Geraldine (Hefferon) Slee. She was twice married, first to John A. Trostle who preceded her in death in August 1970 and then to Montgomery C. Ainsworth who preceded her in death in 1989.

            Surviving are a son Robert J. Trostle of Altoona and his wife Sandy; a daughter Jacqueline J. Moyer and her husband Rick of Greensboro, NC; a daughter Leslie A. Kelly and her husband Tom of Altoona; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Bolger of Altoona and Geraldine McClellan of Myrtle Beach, SC.

            Dee was preceded in death by a son, John Trostle; and three brothers, Robert, James and Donald Slee.

            Mrs. Ainsworth was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

            She was a 1940 graduate of Altoona High School.

            Dee retired as a cashier from Riverside Markets after 10 years’ service.

            She loved spending time with her family and her Graystone friends. She enjoyed cooking and playing cards, especially double hand Pinochle.

            She was a former member of the Red Hat Society and the Order of the Eastern Star.

            Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday November 11, 2017 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday November 11, 2017 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Altoona with Rev. Ronald V. Osinski officiating with committal rites to follow. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
