Betty T. Lawson, 87 of Altoona died Thursday May 5, 2016 at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
      She was born February 15, 1929 in Breezewood the daughter of the late T.R. and Marian E. ( Myers) Simpson. She married Raymond  M. Lawson on November 3, 1947 in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2001.
      Surviving are her two sons, Barry R. and Dale A. Lawson both of Altoona; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
       Betty was a 1947 graduate of Altoona High School.
       She retired as a machine operator in 1982 from Veeder  Root after 25 years of service.
        Betty enjoyed reading, puzzles and the lottery.
       Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday May 9, 2016 at Myers - Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Jason Schwartzman officiating.
       Internment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery.
