Charles Edward “Charlie” Fisher, Sr., 83, formerly of Altoona died Monday evening February 20, 2017 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

            He was born May 5, 1933 in Altoona a son of the late Earl Fisher and Ruth Fisher Andrews. He married Annabelle Mae Clapper on April 20, 1957 in Altoona.

            Surviving are his wife, Annabelle; three children, son Charles E. Fisher, Jr. and his wife Linda; son John L Fisher and his wife Candy; and daughter Deborah L. Wall and her husband John all of Altoona; four grandchildren, Deanna Fisher of Altoona; Danielle Luteran and her husband Cory of Hubbard, OH; Megan Wall of Altoona; Nicole Wall of Altoona; two great grandchildren, Curtis and Lauren Luteran of Hubbard, OH; and a sister, Mary Johnson of Altoona.

            Charlie was preceded in death by four siblings, George Fisher, Pearl Andrews, Ethel Bookas and Mae Nebelski.

            He was a U.S. Army veteran serving the Korean War from1953-1955.

            Mr. Fisher retired from the maintenance department of ServiceMaster and had previously been employed as a baker by Hallers Bakery for over forty years.

            Charlie enjoyed hunting and professional wrestling.

            Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Thursday February 23, 2017 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Mr. James Walker officiating. Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park Cemetery.

            In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Blair County Unit, 1004 North Juniata Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
