Charles “Chuck” “Charlie” Eugene Kelly, Sr., 68 of Altoona, died Friday June 2, 2017 at UPMC Altoona.

               He was born July 26, 1948 in Altoona, a son of the late Thelma Books.

               He married Rose M. Dewitt on June 3, 1967 in Altoona. She preceded him in death on January 12, 2017.

               Surviving are three sons; James E. Kelly and wife Sherri of Altoona, Charles E. Kelly, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Altoona, and Gene P. Kelly and wife Carol of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barb Lattieri, Carol Marlett, and Grace Raigh.

               He was preceded in death by an infant son.

               Charlie served in the United States Marine Corps.

               He enjoyed movies, 50s, 60s, and 70s music, umpiring and especially spending time with his family.

               Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday June 6, 2017 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will take place at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Sandell officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park Cemetery.
