Chester Owen "Chet" Adams

            Chester Owen “Chet” Adams, 76 of Altoona died Monday afternoon August 20, 2018 at UPMC Altoona.

            He was born May 19, 1942 in Bedford a son of the late Dorothy McNutt.

            He married Mary M. McIntosh on January 15, 1964 in Winchester, VA.

            Surviving are his wife, Mary; three children, daughter Katherine L. Perez (Marino) of Cleveland, OH; son, Charles C. Adams of Jersey Shore; daughter, Sherry L. Adams of Altoona; eight grandchildren, Kevin Helsel, Kandie Helsel, Wayne Hinkle, Layla Adams-Campbell, Clarissa “Clarie” Adams, Charles Adams, Jay-Jay Adams-Best and Shemar Diggs; numerous great grandchildren; three brothers, Rodney, David and Bruce Adams; two sisters, Ida Smith and Nina Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            Chet retired as a steamer from Warnaco in 1993 following 30 years’ service.

            He enjoyed cars, professional wrestling and hunting.

            Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Friday August 24, 2018 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
