Clesta Mae Slogenhop, 93 of Altoona passed away Monday evening January 2, 2017, following a long illness.

She was born on May 6, 1923, at Altoona Mercy Hospital and is the only child of Raymond and Pearl Wallace. She married Chalmer S. Johnson of Houtzdale until his death at age 35. She was later married to Harry Slogenhop of Sinking Valley until his death.

She is survived by her three sons, Hollis Johnson (Patty), Mitch Johnson (Mary), and Alan Johnson (Bonnie), grandchildren Cheri, Amie, Robert, Brian, Camille, Jeremiah, Morgan, Madison, Troy and several great-grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her son Bruce Johnson.  

Clesta was a graduated from Altoona High School.

Clesta loved her family. She liked sitting in the bleachers at their sporting events. She enjoyed traveling to their homes for long fun visits. She cooked and baked and you were always welcome in her kitchen. For many years she worked at a local drugstore, but in later years she enjoyed camping with friends and sitting with her dog, reading a good book. Thank you, mom. You made us feel loved.  

Services will be held on Friday January 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Alto Reste Park Cemetery, 109 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
