            David Norman “Dave” Hufford, 35 of Altoona died unexpectedly Monday morning August 15, 2016 at UPMC Altoona.

            He was born September 8, 1980 in Fort Riley, Kansas a son of Harry E. and Christine L. (Brandt) Hufford. He married Amber M. Kelley on June 21, 2007 in Bellwood.

            Surviving are his wife, Amber; three children, Seth X., Keirstin N. and Zackery A. Hufford all at home; sister Erica L. Hufford; brother Ryan M. Hufford of Altoona; mother, Christine L. Brandt of Greenwood; father Harry E. Hufford of Mill Run; paternal grandparents, Sandra and Paul Lingenfelter of Altoona; in-laws Earnest and Judith Kelley of Bellwood; and numerous extended family.

            Dave was preceded in death by great grandmother Reba Hufford; aunt Dolores Ewing; and cousins Bobby Mattio and Rich Hufford.

            Mr. Hufford was a 1998 graduate of Altoona Area High School.

            He was employed as a tap cleaner for Chillers Tap Cleaning in Hollidaysburg for 8 years and had previously been employed as a drywall hanger/finisher for Owens Drywall for 8 years.

            Dave enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Penn State football fan. He was a member of Deleo’s dart league and enjoyed coaching his children in baseball, football, soccer and basketball.

            He was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society and the Newburg Firehall.

            Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Thursday August 18, 2016 and 10-11 a.m. Friday August 19, 2016 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday with Rev. John Poe officiating.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the family in care of the funeral home would be greatly appreciated.
