Deborah K. “Debbie” Eichenlaub, 63 of Altoona, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon June 22, 2016 at UPMC Altoona.

She was born March 9, 1953 in Altoona, a daughter of the late James H. and Lois L. (David) Glass. She married Kenneth E. Eichenlaub on February 26, 1972 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Altoona.

Surviving are her husband Kenneth of 44 years, two sons, Jamie A. Eichenlaub and wife Tera and Jason B. Eichenlaub and wife Holly, both of Altoona; five grandchildren, Jordan, Riley, Trenton, Hayden, and Jaylyn; a brother in law, Bill Eichenlaub; a nephew, Joe Eichenlaub and wife Ayme; two nieces, Wendy Martin and husband Randy and Rachel Robinson and husband Sean; a special aunt and uncle, Gladys and Sonny Wolfe; and a special friend Sandy Bettwy.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Glass and a brother, James Glass.

Mrs. Eichenlaub attended Sacred Heart Church, Altoona.

She was a 1971 graduate of Altoona High School.

Debbie retired in 2013 as a cafeteria worker for the Altoona School District with over 20 years of service.

Debbie loved traveling, taking trips to casinos, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and “Turkey Thursdays” with her granddaughter.

Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday June 27, 2016 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday June 28, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church, Altoona with Father Lubomir J. Strecok and  Monsignor Stanley B. Carson officiating, committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
