Dennis Paul Johnson, 37 of Altoona went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning June 3, 2016.

            He was born January 25, 1979 in Altoona a son of Paul L. Johnson and Darlene J. (Houtz) Johnson.

            Surviving are his father Pastor Paul L. Johnson and his wife Cindy of Altoona; his mother Darlene J. Johnson of Lewistown; his son Cody S. Coffman of Altoona; a brother Toby L. Houtz and wife Natalie of Hollidaysburg; a sister Ronata T. Johnson-Lear of Altoona; and numerous extended family.

            Mr. Johnson was a member of Eighteenth Street Community Church, Altoona.

            He had been previously employed by The Olive Garden where he was part of the kitchen staff and had also been employed as a general laborer.

            Dennis enjoyed drawing, video games, music and sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State and the Dallas Mavericks. He was a Facebook fanatic.

            He could be considered a modern day Richard Pryor and loved to be around people.

            Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday June 8, 2016 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Charles Stump officiating.

            In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Eighteenth Street Community Church, 1416 18th Street, Altoona, PA 16601.
