Doris L. Brennecke, 87 of Tyrone went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening April 26, 2016.

            She was born May 27, 1928 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Merle and Mildred Lehman.

            Surviving are her sister, Jackie Ross and husband Gene of Altoona; a brother, Richard Lehman and wife Carol of CA. Doris was a beloved aunt to 15 nieces and nephews and 24 great nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by her niece Sue Rabish and husband Jeff of Gallitzin and her great nieces Megan and Katie.

            She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Brennecke, a preterm infant son, a sister Lois Strunk, and a brother Mike Lehman.

            Doris formerly resided at Hollidaysburg Manor Apartments where she had many friends. She was a former secretary for the Pennsylvania State Liquor Control Board. She was active member and children’s Sunday school teacher for many years at Second Avenue United Methodist Church, where she was a part of the King’s Crusaders Sunday school class. Doris enjoyed playing the piano for her friends at Epworth Manor and for church functions.

            A memorial service will be held Friday April 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc. 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona with Rev. Robert Ryder officiating.

            Interment will be made at Rose Hill Cemetery.
