Doris J. Schumacher, 78 of Altoona, died Thursday evening September 8, 2016 at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care.

               She was born June 15, 1938 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Robert and Lottie (Rutter) Nicodemus.  She married Robert E. Schumacher on August 18, 1958 at the First Church of the Brethren. He preceded her in death on April 24, 2008.

               Surviving are four children, Debra Ann Zeth of Altoona, Pamela J. Ward of Altoona, Barry R. of Altoona and Bruce E. of St. Petersburg, FL.; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother Robert Schumacher of OK; and a sister Donna Luke of KY.

               She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Heather and Brandon Zeth.

               Doris was a 1956 graduate of Altoona High School.

               She enjoyed camping and bingo.

               At the request of the family there will be no services at this time.

               Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park Cemetery.
