Edith V. Gardner

              Edith V. Gardner, 100 passed away Monday March 5, 2018 at UPMC Altoona.

               She was born January 9, 1918 in McAlvey’s Fort the daughter of the late Guy and Margaret (Koser) Gardner.

               Surviving are a brother, Don Gardner and wife Madeline; five nephews, John, Steve, Mike, Terry, and Tim Gardner; two nieces, Pam Robison and Debbie Gardner; fourteen great nieces and nephews; numerous great great nieces and nephews and her beloved cat Punkin.

               She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Gardner and a brother, John Gardner.

               Edith was a member of Jaggard United Methodist Church.

               She retired in March of 1981 from Wolf Furniture Co.

               Edith enjoyed sewing, reading and was very active in church.

               Friends will be received Friday March 9, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Evelyn Madison and Rev. Marcus Mills officiating. Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery.

               In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
