Gerald “Jerry” O. Walters, 70 of Altoona died Thursday April 27, 2017 at home.

               He was born April 12, 1947 in Cleveland, OH the son of Roy and Pearl (Holt) Walters. He married Ellen C. Fredericks on December 28, 1985 in Altoona.

               Surviving are his wife, Ellen; three children, Jason Miller and wife Amber, Melinda Miller (fiancé Roy Lucas) and Joel Walters; five grandchildren, Edward, Hailey, Michaela, Andrew and David; two sisters, Dorothy Holschuh and Ann McClintock; a brother, Don Walters and his dog Gabby.

               He was a member of Altoona Apostolic Church.

               Jerry was a graduate from Collinwood High School.

               He was a Pastor for the past thirty-five years.

               He was a U.S. veteran serving as a Marine.

               He enjoyed collecting stamps, light houses, and bible study.

               A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday May 5, 2017 at Altoona Apostolic Church, 2206 11th Ave, Altoona, PA 16601, with Pastor Edwin Tucker officiating.

               In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family, in care of Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.
