Jeffrey A. “Jeff” Irvin, 53 of Hollidaysburg died Tuesday morning December 12, 2017 in the Palliative Care Unit of UPMC Altoona.
He was born May 19, 1964 in Harrisburg a son of the late Ralph E. and Madaline R. (Brumbaugh) Irvin. He married Helen A. (Klausman) Hostler on May 17, 1997 in Williamsburg, VA.
Surviving are his wife Helen A. Irvin; three daughters, Kayla M. Irvin of Hollidaysburg; Jennifer L. Gummo and her husband Chad of Altoona; Amanda K. Hostler and her fiancé Bill Harlow of Altoona; two granddaughters, Marissa J. and Olivia A. Gummo; a brother, Richard “Rick” Irvin and his wife Peggy of Virginia; a sister, Diane Singer of Six Mile Run; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by a brother William “Bill” Irvin, Sr. and a nephew Richard Irvin.
Mr. Irvin was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg.
Jeff was a 1982 graduate of Altoona Area High School.
He retired as a heavy duty truck mechanic from Cresson Ridge Diesel in 2004 after 25 years’ service.
He was a life member of the Lakemont Volunteer Fire Company; a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #74, Altoona; a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post #516, Hollidaysburg; and a member of the Allegheny Club.
Friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday December 17, 2017 and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday December 18, 2017 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Grace Marie Ransom officiating. Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
