Leroy “Lee” W. Wilfong, 99 of Altoona, died Saturday June 3, 2017 at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.

               He was born August 10, 1917 in Altoona a son of the late William and Wilhelmina Wilfong.

               He married Thelma E. Hiltenbeitel on November 17, 1945 in Cincinnati, OH. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2012.

               Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis and husband William Costanza, Jr. and Linda and husband Rex Strayer, Sr.; a son, William L. and Wilfong and wife Kathy; six grandchildren, Robert, Tracey, Kimberly, Shelley, Stephen and Lori; and fifteen great grandchildren.

               He was preceded in death by a grandson Joseph Costanzo.

               He was a 1937 graduate of Altoona High School.

               Leroy was a U.S. Army veteran.

               He was a member of the Garden Heights United Methodist Church.

               Lee retired in 1978 after 30 years of service from the Altoona Railroad as a molder.

               Lee enjoyed bowling and traveling.  

               Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday June 7, 2017 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will take place Thursday June 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brian Sandell officiating.  Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park Cemetery.
