Linda Jean “Schirm” Schirmacher, 67 of Altoona died Saturday January 14, 2017 at her residence.

               She was born March 23, 1949 in Altoona a daughter of the late, Harry R. Wharton and Shirley J. Stitt.

               Surviving are her two children; Robert D. Schirmacher of Altoona and Lisa R. Schirmacher of Hollidaysburg; and a brother, Harry R. Wharton and wife Denise.

               She was a 1966 graduate of Altoona Area High School and received her nursing degree from the Altoona School of nursing.

               Linda was a Registered Nurse at Tyrone Hospital retiring in 2014 and previously work at Altoona Hospital with combined over 30 years of service. 

               She enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting, and scrap booking.

               A private service will be held at a later date.
