Lorna R. Woomer, 94 of Altoona died early Saturday morning July 30, 2016 at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona.

            She was born June 22, 1922 in Altoona a daughter of the late Samuel Ellis and Bertha Mae (Yingling) Riley. She was formerly married to George A. Woomer, Sr. who preceded her in death.

            Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne G. Stehley of Bellwood; Alma G. Finch and her husband Robert of Tipton; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; two sisters, Alma Mentzer of Georgia and Martha Painter of Altoona.

            Lorna was preceded in death by three sons, George, Jr., Patrick and Dennis.

            Mrs. Woomer was a member of Altoona First Church of the Brethren.

            She retired from the mounting department of Sylvania after 36 years’ service.

            Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday August 2, 2016 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 3, 2016 at Altoona First Church of the Brethren where a funeral service will held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor William Pepper officiating. Interment will be made at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
