Lynn P. Hildebrand, 76, formerly of Altoona went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning July 8, 2017 at Homewood at Martinsburg following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

​He was born April 21, 1941 in Altoona a son of the late Lyman DeEssa and Helen (McCloskey) Hildebrand. He married Linda L. Hauk on April 25, 1964 in Altoona. She preceded him in death on August 17, 2008.

​Surviving are two children, daughter Heather J. Fink and her husband Jeffrey L. of State College; son Scott L.Hildebrand and his wife Angela M. of Altoona; four grandchildren, Alexander and his wife Emily, Aaron, Owen and Lily; and a sister-in-law, Jodi Delozier and her husband Don of Hollidaysburg; two nephews, Brad Delozier; Dustin Delozier and his wife Jill; and a niece, Marissa Delozier; and numerous cousins. 

​Mr. Hildebrand was a member of First Church of Christ, Juniata Gap.

​He was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School.

​He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran from 1960 to 1964.

​Lynn retired as a locomotive engineer from Norfolk Southern in 2004 with 30 years’ service.

​He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood-working, photography and travelling.

​Lynn was a member of Juniata Boone Rod and Gun Club. He was a life member of Trout Unlimited.

​Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday July 11, 2017 at First Church of Christ, Juniata Gap where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Alexander Hildebrand and Pastor John Collins co-officiating.

​Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park Cemetery.

​In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Trout Unlimited, John Kennedy Chapter #045, PO Box 118, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.​
