Norman J. “Norm” Tremmel, Jr., 35 of Sinking Valley died early Friday morning July 15, 2016 at his residence.

            He was born November 23, 1980 in Altoona a son of Norman J., Sr. and Loretta J. (Iachini) Tremmel. He married Sheena Nicole Ormsby on October 11, 2008 in Martinsburg, PA.

            Surviving are his wife, Sheena; his parents, Norm “Joey” and Loretta “Lori” Tremmel of Duncansville; three children, sons Rhyvan and Zachary and daughter Makaila all at home; two brothers Daniel F. Tremmel (Lyndsay Yon) of Altoona; Michael J. Tremmel of Duncansville; grandmother, Betty Helsel of Altoona; in-laws, Charles F. and Elaine M. (Pinyard) Ormsby of Trevose; brother-in-law, Kevin C. Ormsby of Yardley; and numerous extended family.

            Norm was preceded in death by an infant brother, Joseph L. Tremmel.

            Mr. Tremmel was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Martinsburg, PA.

            He was a 1999 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School and a 2003 graduate of Penn College in Williamsport with an Associate Degree.

He was employed since November 2008 as a welder for Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Norm enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, hockey and football.

He was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society.

Friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday July 17, 2016 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday July 18, 2016 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Martinsburg where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Knauss, Pastor Judith Simonson and Pastor Ed Harshbarger officiating.
