Paul L. “Butch” Brubaker, 73 of Altoona died early Monday morning July 18, 2016 at Golden Living Center – Hillview.

            He was born May 4, 1943 in Altoona a son of the late Owen D. and Virginia R. (Brubaker) Wilt. He married Gloria Jean Ferguson on November 29, 1969. She preceded him in death July 10, 2014.

            Surviving are a niece Amy L. McNeal her husband Andrew and their son Japheth with whom he resided; brother Philip Wilt of Altoona; sister Shirley Bowser and husband Myron of Altoona; brother Owen Wilt Jr of Altoona; sister Linda Wilt Miller of Altoona; brother-in-law Donald Ferguson and his wife Kim of Altoona; nieces and nephews, Michael Harbaugh, Jim Harbaugh, John Ferguson, Kristine Walls, Christopher Ferguson, Rachel Ferguson, Mindi Ferguson, and Allen and Angel Geist; and many great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brubaker attended Second Avenue United Methodist Church, Altoona.

            He was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School.

            Butch retired in 2000 as a custodian for Second Avenue United Methodist Church.

            He enjoyed hunting and loved animals and was always fixing something.

            He was a member of Canon Station, Allegheny Township Fire Department.

            Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday July 25, 2016 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Brian Sandell officiating.

            The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 East Pleasant Valley Boulevard, Altoona, PA 16602.
