Peggy Arlene Myers, 92 of Altoona died Thursday December 29, 2016 at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg.

She was born April 30, 1924 the daughter of the late Paul W. and Martha “Marty” Helen (Staines) Vance.  She married Robert G. Myers on April 23, 1949 in Altoona. He preceded her death on May 15, 1988.

Surviving are her three daughters, Martha “Marty” Reed and husband Mark of Wilmington, DE, Barbara Coho and husband Randy of Williamsburg, Carole Myers of Hollidaysburg; eight grandchildren, Christopher Reed and wife Niki, Kevin Reed, Adam Reed and wife Alissa, Michael Coho, Scott Coho, Jennifer Myers, Melinda Myers, and David Myers; four great grandchildren, Morgan, Derek, Malik, and Xavier; and a brother Donald E. Vance.

She was preceded in death by a brother Paul S. Vance and a sister Jane Barree.

Peggy was a member of East End United Methodist Church.

She was a 1942 graduate of Altoona High School.

Peggy a member of the Red Hats Society and she enjoyed walking, making quilts and was very active with her class of 1942.

Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 3, 2017 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jason Schwartzman officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park Cemetery
