Raymond Donald “Ray” Nicewonger, Jr., 64 of Duncansville died late Thursday evening July 14, 2016 at his residence.

            He was born February 15, 1952 in Altoona a son of the late Raymond Donald, Sr. and Alma M. (Noel) Nicewonger.

            Surviving are his fiancé Sharon Lynn Burgoon and her children Ricky Shannon (Shannon Riley) and his daughter Kinsley; Krystal Hoover (Mark Ursua) and her children Ethan Hoover and Bailey McKnight; Tiffany Zimmerman (Alex) and her son Connor; son Raymond Donald Nicewonger III (Amy) of Uniontown; brother Ralph Nicewonger (Judy) of FL; sister Linda Garman of Ebensburg; sister Sherena Rhodes of FL; sister Evelyn Nicewonger of Altoona; sister Palma Fogal (Bill) of Altoona; numerous extended family; and closest friends William George “Bill” Bickel, Raymond “Duck” Lang and Ray Warfield.

            Ray was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Nicewonger.

            Mr. Nicewonger was a member of Faith Assembly of God, Martinsburg.

            He was a 1970 graduate of Altoona Area High School.

            Ray was an auctioneer for his entire career, the last 25 of which he worked for Bill Bickel’s 764 Auction Center.

            He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

            Friends will be received from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday July 18, 2016 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m.

            In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Blair County Unit, 1004 North Juniata Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
