Robert Benner “Bob” Sickinger, 87 of Altoona died Thursday July 13, 2017 at his residence.

               He was born April 25, 1930 in Tuscarawas, OH a son of the late William H. and Isabella Helen (Benner) Sickinger. He married Geraldine Margaret Cochrane on October 23, 1955 at Broad Avenue Presbyterian Church. She preceded him in death on October 1, 1997.

               Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Ann Sickinger and Amy Louise Sickinger whom he resided with; a grandson, Christopher James; and two brothers, Arthur and William Sickinger and wife Linda.

               He was preceded by two sisters, Dorothy Sickinger and Sara Rich.

               He was a U.S. Airforce veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

               Bob retired in 1996 as a laborer for Blair Clay Products.

               He enjoys hunting, fishing, cards, reading, crossword puzzles, re-loading and trap shooting.

               Mr. Benner was a former member of Riggles Gap Bellwood Sportsmans Club.  

               Friends will be received Friday July 21, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Duane Coy officiating.
