            Rose M. Kelly, 68 of Altoona died Thursday afternoon January 12, 2017 at her residence following a lengthy four year illness.

            She was born October 15, 1948 in Altoona a daughter of the late Robert E. and Helen M. (Browand) DeWitt. She married Charles E. Kelly, Sr. on June 3, 1967 in Altoona.

            Surviving are her husband; three sons, James E. Kelly (Sherri); Charles E. Kelly, Jr. (Cheryl); and Gene P. Kelly (Carol); nine grandchildren, Dennis Stehley, James, Joshua, Justin, Kris, Danny, Sean, Patrick, and Nicholas Kelly; eight great grandchildren, Triniti and Braden Stehley, and Noah, Arios, Sabien, Cabella, Macie and Laiken Kelly; five sisters, Blanche Yerty, Cindy Briggs, Pearl Daughenbaugh, Zoe Harn and Judy Grassmyer; and a dear friend Judy Wance and family.

            Rose was preceded in death by an infant son.

            She had previously been employed by Value City and Ashley Furniture retiring as an office manager in 2014 with 26 years’ service.  

            She enjoyed spending time with her family, crafts and camping.

            Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday January 17, 2017 and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday January 18, 2017 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gary Jones officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.

            In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to them in care of the funeral home.
