Shirley Lou Ickes, 71 of Altoona died Sunday August 21, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown.

            She was born December 23, 1944 in Altoona a daughter of the late Earl P., Sr. and Hazel E. (Boggs) Rhodes. She married Wayne G. Ickes in 1968. He preceded her in death.

            Surviving are three brothers, Earl P. Rhodes, Jr. and his wife Nan of Altoona; Ronald L. Rhodes and his wife Linda of Bellwood; Allen R. Rhodes and his wife Aimee of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            Shirley was preceded in death by a brother Gary Robert Rhodes; a sister Betty Darlene Hinninger; and a half-brother Richard Rhodes.

            Mrs. Ickes was a 1964 graduate of Altoona High School.

            She retired as a sewing machine operator from Saf-T-Bak.

            At Shirley’s request, there will be no viewing or funeral services.

            Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
