Ethel O. Rutherford

            Ethel O. Rutherford, 94 of Altoona died unexpectedly Friday evening April 12, 2024, at UPMC Altoona.

            She was born January 19, 1930, in Portage Township, a daughter of the late Ralph H. and Clara A. (Morgan) Dunmire. She married Fred I. Rutherford on May 27, 1950, in Cumberland, MD.

            Surviving are her husband, Fred; a daughter Deborah Miller (James) of Altoona; and a grandson, Christopher (Trisha) of Gibsonia.

            Ethel was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

            Mrs. Rutherford was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona.

            She was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School.

            Ethel retired from the Altoona Rayon Weaving Mill.

            She was a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and she was also a member of Jobel Court #11, Ladies’ Oriental Shrine of North America.

            A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 17, 2024, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona with Rev. Drew McCaffery officiating.

            Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.
