Betty Fedesco Obituary

            Betty J. Fedesco, 86 of Altoona went home to be with the Lord Monday morning August 5, 2019 at UPMC Altoona.

            She was born December 18, 1932 in Pittsburgh a daughter of the late John and Sue (Straletz) Duritza. She was thrice married, first to Perry Metz on March 28, 1953. He preceded her in death July 15, 1979. She then married William R. O’Shell on August 5, 1982. He preceded her in death March 2, 1990. She then married James B. Fedesco on April 27, 1990 at Second Avenue United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death August 19, 2012.

            Surviving are three children, daughter Kathy Ceyrolles of Port Richey, FL; daughter Debra Moore (Garry) of Pittsburgh; daughter Mary Sue Weyandt (Leo) of Altoona; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two step-children, Tommy Fedesco (Kim); Barry Fedesco (Gailee) their families; a brother Donald Duritza (Jackie) of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter-in-law Helen Metz of McKees Rocks; a stepson-in-law Randy Kuhn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            Betty was preceded in death by a son Don Metz on July 13, 2016; a great grandson Eric Keene; a brother Bob Duritza; a son-in-law Ronald Ceyrolles; two stepsons William David O’Shell and James Fedesco; and a stepdaughter Sherry Kuhn.

            Mrs. Fedesco was a member since 1993 of Second Avenue United Methodist Church, Altoona.

            She was a 1951 graduate of Shenley High School, Pittsburgh.

            Betty enjoyed jig-saw puzzles, crossword puzzles, Bingo, reading, playing cards and spending time with her family. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates baseball fan and also a Pittburgh Steelers football fan.

            Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday August 7, 2019 and 10-11 a.m. Thursday August 8, 2019 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brian Sandell officiating.

            Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park Cemetery.
