Carol J. (Snyder) Long

            Carol J. Long, 78 of Altoona died Wednesday afternoon August 22, 2018 at UPMC Altoona.

            She was born October 7, 1939 in Altoona a daughter of the late Fred A. and Caroline J. (Flick) Snyder.

            She married Dean Calvin “Cal” Long in March 1969 in Falls Church, Virginia. He preceded her in death October 10, 2015.

            Surviving are three children Amy J. Long of Altoona, A. Kay Shaw and husband Denny of Bellwood; Donald Ault and wife Jacqueline of Altoona; five grandchildren, Joe Dennis, Jr., Justin Shaw, Kristina Ault, Kelly Shaw, Marina Higgins; eight great grandchildren, Kelcie, Madyson, Paige, Seth, Brayden, Sydney, Bella and Emily; a sister, Nancy Jackson of Claysburg and a brother, Jim Snyder and his wife, Tammy of Altoona.

            Carol was preceded in death by a daughter Debbie Ault Oyler; a son Bill Ault; an infant daughter; and a brother, Fred A. “Buddy” Snyder, Jr.

             Carol most enjoyed spending time with friends, family and grandchildren and her beloved Pomeranian “Missy” as well as camping and fishing along the Juniata river.

            At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing.

            A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
