Dana M. Weller, 79 of Altoona died Saturday evening November 25, 2017 at his residence.

            He was born December 21, 1937 in West Reading a son of the late Leonard M. and Gladys B. (Miller) Weller. He married Helen E. Reichert on July 1, 1961 in Bethlehem, PA.

            Surviving are his wife Helen; a daughter, Debra E. Jadlocki and her husband David of Huntingdon; a son, Dana M. Weller of Hollidaysburg; a grandson, Ryan D. Jadlocki; a granddaughter, Lauren E. Jadlocki; a great grandson, Carter Jadlocki; a sister, Carlene L. Searfoss (D. Gerald) of Spokane, WA; and a brother, Leslie G. Weller (Ira) of Dauberville.

            Mr. Weller was a member of Second Avenue United Methodist Church, Altoona.

            He was a 1955 graduate of Ontelaunee High School.

            Dana retired as a Trooper from Troop G, Pennsylvania State Police on January 4, 1991 after 27 years’ service.

            He enjoyed camping and traveling.

            He was a member of Frederick Sutton Lodge #57, Fraternal Order of Police; he also served on the board of Improved Dwellings for Altoona.

            Friends will be received from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday November 29, 2017 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday November 30, 2017 at Second Avenue United Methodist Church, 130 Second Avenue, Altoona where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Brian Sandell officiating.

            Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood at a future date.

            In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the ALS Association, Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 416 Lincoln Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15209 or to Home Nursing Agency Family Hospice, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona, PA 16602.
