Dorothy Irene (Eckhart) Slemmer

               Dorothy I. Slemmer, 78 of Altoona died Monday July 2, 2018 at home.

                She was born January 18, 1940 a daughter of the late Frank H. Eckhart and Minnie I. Focht. She married Gerald Slemmer he preceded her in death on April 30, 2011.

                Surviving are her son, Paul Steak of Chester, VA; a step-son, Jody F. Slemmer of Ashville; and a step-daughter, Patrice Slemmer of AZ.

                She was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Eckhart and a granddaughter, Jamina Winston.

                Dorothy was a 1957 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.

                She retired as a nurse aide from the Altoona Hospital.

                Friends will be received Thursday July 12, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, where a memorial service will take place at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Tyler Pepper officiating.
