Eleanor Rose "Ellie" "Nellie" (Weston) Kraft

            Eleanor Rose “Ellie” “Nellie” (Weston) Kraft, 77 of Altoona died June 14, 2018 at Golden Living Center, Hillview.

            She was born August 8, 1940 in Altoona a daughter of the late Harold and Christine M. (Harlan) Weston Maitland.

            She was raised by her step-father, John C. Maitland, whom she knew as “dad” due to the death of her father at a very early age.

            Surviving are two sisters, Carol L. Kinser and Joann E. Beck, both of Altoona; seven nieces and nephews, John, Jamie, Jennifer, Suzanne, Erin, Brian and Alissa; fourteen great nieces and nephews, Jeremy, Jocelyn, Alexa, Anna, Justin, Brenden, Corrie, Heidi, Brianna, Joey, Addison, Lucas, Wyatt and Beckham; three great great nieces and nephews, Lily, Aubrey and Jordan; and a sister-in-law, Barb Maitland of Downingtown.

            Eleanor was preceded in death by a brother, David Maitland of Downingtown.

            She was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School and a graduate of Altoona Hospital School of Nursing.

            Nellie retired as a registered nurse in long term healthcare in 1989.

            She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, sewing and cats and was an avid sports fan of all types of sports.

            A private family viewing will be held at the convenience of the family.

            Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.

            In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Blair Senior Services, Inc., Meals-on-Wheels program, 1320 Twelfth Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.
