Genevieve A. “Gennie” Stitt, 94, died Thursday afternoon August 3, 2017 at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona.

            She was born January 23, 1923 in Altoona a daughter of the late Roy W. and Rhoda V. (Grace) Kehoe. She married Harold G. Stitt on June 9, 1942 in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death October 10, 2012.

            Surviving are three children, son Harold W. Stitt of Huntsville, AL; son Dennis G. Stitt and his wife Josephine of Altoona; daughter Judith E. Cardone and her husband Gregory of Pinellas Park, FL; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and one on the way; and two sisters, Marjorie Edwards and Patricia Klausman  both of Altoona.

            She was preceded in death by a brother Dale Kehoe, an infant sister Grace, two sisters, Edrie Kensinger and Edna M. Hurm; and a daughter-in-law, Virginia Stitt.

Gennie was a 1940 graduate of Altoona High School.

She retired as a clerk from the Ramada Gift Shop in 1986 after 20 years’ service.

Friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday August 11, 2017 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc. where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. with Monsignor Timothy Stein officiating.

Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
