Joyce L. Hainley, 89, died unexpectedly early Saturday morning August 31, 2019 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
She was born July 16, 1930 in Roaring Spring a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Lucy (Miller) Biddle. She married Donald L. Hainley, Sr. on August 23, 1969 in Altoona. He preceded her in death May 14, 2015.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Cheryll Ann “Cheryie” Partner of Lakemont, Altoona and a brother, Samuel Biddle of Johnstown; and numerous step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, step great great-grandchildren; and a nephew and numerous nieces.
Joyce was preceded in death by two sons, William Robert Hainley and Donald L. Hainley, Jr.; a daughter, Cindy Kay Miller; and three sisters, Arlene Burket, Jean Civiello and Nancy Belish.
Mrs. Hainley was a member of Faith Alliance Church, Fuoss Mills.
She retired as a presser from Puritan Cleaners in 1970 following twenty-five years’ service.
She enjoyed bowling, animals, classic country music and gospel music, especially the Gaithers. She especially enjoyed spending time with children.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday September 6, 2019 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Drew McCaffery officiating.
Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
