      Kenton Scott Knepp, 50, of Altoona,  went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday morning, November 17, 2017. 
      He was born on January 5, 1967, to  Jesse E. and Dorothy L. (Lukehart) Knepp. 
      He is survived by his two daughters Kiersten E. Knepp and Chelsey N. Knepp; two brothers; Jeffrey Knepp and wife, Terry, Steve Knepp and brother-in-law, Wayne Ellis; two sisters; Shelia Winstead and husband, Richard, and  Pam Bitzel; a son-in-law, Scott Lytle and numorous nieces and nephews.
      He was preceded in death by his father and mother, a daughter,  Nicole L. Lytle; a sister, Linda Knepp and his fiance, Joline Schobel.
       He was a 1985 graduate of  Altoona Area High School. He also completed an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.
     Kenton retired from the PA Department of Corrections as a Lieutenant with 20 years of service. He was a member of the Corrections Emergency Response Team and the Hostage Negotiation Team. He served in the United States Army at the rank of MP Master Sergeant and the Air National Guard, 193rd Special Operations Division. 
        He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, Nascar and especially spending time with his daughters.  He was an avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
       Friends will be received Tuesday November 21, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday November 22, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 11 a..m. at Myers Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 6th Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Rebecca Holland officating. Committal will take place at Grandview Cemetery.
