Kevin Michael Gottshall, 42 of Altoona died Friday morning April 13, 2018 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born September 7, 1975 in Altoona a son of Daniel and Renee (Lyle) Gottshall. He married Amy L. Smith on May 21, 2005 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Amy; a son, Brady; a daughter, Brooke; his parents; his in-laws, Lynn and Linda Smith; a brother-in-law, Joe Smith; a sister-in-law, Tracy McElravy and husband Shawn; three nephews, Carter Smith, Lane McElravy and Tanner McElravy; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Paul and Lois Lyle and paternal grandparents, Mary Anderson and Daniel Gottshall.
He was a graduate of Altoona Area High School and received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Penn State University.
He was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society.
He was a Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed coaching his son and daughter’s baseball teams and his favorite baseball player was Gary Carter.
Friends will be received Monday April 16, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. where a funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Townsend officiating.
