Lilia H. (Harford) Myers

Lilia H. Myers, 93 of Altoona passed away at the Winds of Mattern Orchard on December 9, 2019.

She was born in Uniontown the daughter of Jesse and Jessie Harford.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Eyer (Robert), grandsons Bobby (Dorte), James (Annette), great grandsons Benjamin and Christopher, sister-in-law Doris, nephew Ron, and niece Tricia.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband James P. Myers Jr. and her brother, Harold Harford.

Lilia graduated from Arnold High School. Her first job was at Strem Studio where this early picture was taken.  For many years, she worked at Hickory Farms in the Logan Valley Mall. Lilia corresponded with James who served in the Army Air Force during WWII and they were married shortly after his discharge from the service. Her grandchildren and also her great children were the joy of her life.   Watching both college football and the Steelers was a favorite fall pastime.

Lilia attended the First Church of Christ and enjoyed many of her church friends.  Many fun times were spent with her various card clubs. Jackie Ball and Carol Monti, here best friends had many good times together.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Winds of Mattern Orchard for her care. Also, thanks to Grane Hospice for their loving care during this difficult time.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday December 12, 2019 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. with Pastor John Collins officiating.
