Mary Margaret (Metzler) Morrisey Bravin

            Mary Margaret (Metzler) Morrisey Bravin, 93, died Sunday afternoon September 9, 2018 at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

            She was born September 18, 1924 in Hollidaysburg a daughter of the late Virn Chester and Clay R. (Baker) Metzler.

            She was twice married, first to John J. “Jack” Morrisey on June 28, 1958 who preceded her in death in 1984; then to John Andrew Bravin on October 24, 1987 who preceded her in death February 10, 2011.

            Surviving are a daughter Mary Ellen Adams and her husband Joseph of Duncansville; a grandson Jeffrey T. Adams and his wife Kim of Duncansville; five great grandchildren, Hannah, Abigail, Caroline, Josiah and Luke; a step-daughter Jacqueline Walk and her husband Henry and their family; and a niece Sandy Brown of Newry.

            She was preceded in death by siblings, Blair Worley, Isabel Conrad, Paul Metzler and Bernard Metzler; and a step-daughter Nancy.

            Mrs. Bravin attended Dry Run Independent Baptist Church, Duncansville.

            She retired as an office supervisor from Conrail in 1989 after 45 years’ service.

            Mary enjoyed traveling worldwide.

            Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday September 12, 2018 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor John Leatherman officiating. Entombment will be made at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
