Michael Long Obituary

Michael Scott Long, 46, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday.

He was born at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., son of David and Jeanie (Knott) Long.

Surviving are two children: Drew Long in North Carolina and Brooke (Jack) Del guidice in Florida; a grandson, Blayze Del guidice; his parents; three siblings: David (Christina) Long Jr., Kimberly (Jeff) Adams and Julie (Chad) Feathers; and 12 nieces and nephews.

He was a 1990 graduate of Calvary Baptist Christian Academy.

Michael had a lifelong passion for art. Some of his significant artistic accomplishments were showcased at the Station Medical Center, Southern Allegheny Museum of Art, Young George Washington Mural, located in downtown Bedford, and other exhibits throughout the eastern states.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or visitation. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at First Baptist Church, 1209 17th St., Altoona, Pastor Jared Bowling officiating. Arrangements are by Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona.
