Naomi Constance “Connie” Jarrett, 86 of Altoona died Monday morning September 23, 2019 at the home of her daughter in Smithfield, NC.
She was born December 4, 1932 in Altoona a daughter of the late Scott Winfield and Laura Hazel (Rogers) Miller. She married Joseph C. Jarrett on November 16, 1949 in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death December 29, 2008.
Surviving are four children, son Joseph Raymond Jarrett and his wife Betsy of Stockbridge, GA; son Ronald Blaine Jarrett and his wife Joni of Altoona; daughter Nadine Marie Edwards and her husband Dennis of Smithfield, NC; daughter Brenda Ruth Falger and her husband John of St. Pete Beach, FL; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and numerous extended family.
She was preceded in death by a great grandson, Cory Rucker; a brother Roger Miller and a sister Leona Weyant.
Mrs. Jarrett was a member of Wehnwood United Methodist Church for over sixty years.
She retired as a vending attendant from Servo-Mation on December 15, 1994 after twenty-five years’ service.
Connie was active in her church and enjoyed roller-skating, bowling and traveling.
She was a member of Jobel Court #11, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America; Delphi Chapter, #65 Order of the Eastern Star; Dorcas Temple #129 Daughters of the Nile; and the Lakemont Lions Club.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 28, 2019 at Wehnwood United Methodist Church, Altoona with Rev. Evelyn Madison officiating. Interment will be made at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.
