Patricia Sara (Reifsteck) Pine, 86, died early Tuesday morning, June 6, 2017, at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg following an extended illness.

She was born March 30, 1931, in Altoona, the daughter of the late Martin Roy and Sara (Mock) Reifsteck. She married Walter W. Pine June 20, 1953 in Altoona. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1997.

Patricia is survived by her four children; a daughter Tammy Fasick and her husband Fred of Elizabethtown; three sons, Walter W. II and his wife Colleen of Waldorf, MD; Mark and his wife Peggy of Altoona; and Alan and his wife Shirley of Altoona; a sister Jean White of FL; two brothers, Robert Reifsteck of Altoona and Marvin Reifsteck and his wife Cathy of Belleville; five grandchildren, Brandon Pine and his wife Misty; Kelly Fasick; Matthew Fasick; Alan Pine, Jr. and his wife Hannah; and Miranda Pine; five great-grandchildren, MyKenzie, Mason, Konner, Braxton, Brayden; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Louise Brunhuber and JoAnn Reifsteck both of Altoona.

In addition to her loving husband and parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Hilda Gutshall and brother, Martin Reifsteck.

Mrs. Pine was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church for over 50 years.

Patricia was a 1949 graduate of Altoona Area High School, and in 1952 graduated from Altoona Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She retired as surgical operating room nurse from the Altoona Hospital to work in the private practice of Dr. Joseph May Stowell until the time of her husband’s sudden illness and death in 1997.

 She was a life member and Past Worthy Matron of the former Altair Chapter 490, Order of the Eastern Star and later a member of the Delphi Chapter 65, Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of Dorcas Temple, Daughters of the Nile; and a member of the Jaffa Shrine Ladies Widow’s Group. She was a charter member of the Hillbilly Clan 119.

She was also a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.

Mrs. Pine was also a volunteer at the Altoona Convention Center and Contact Altoona until the time of her illness. She enjoyed volunteering in her spare time prior to her illness. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending sports activities of all her grandchildren over the years.

At Patricia’s request, private viewing and funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Entombment will be made at Alto Reste Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions, in memory of Patricia Pine, may be made to the Jaffa Shrine Endowment Fund, c/o Jaffa Shrine, PO Box 1984, Altoona PA 16603-1984.
