Paul A. McDowell

            Paul A. McDowell, 89, Altoona passed away Tuesday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

            He was born in Altoona, son of the late Steward and Edna (Taneyhill) McDowell.

            Surviving are his son William C. (Evelyn “Bunnie”) McDowell, Jr., of Altoona; two grandchildren: Heather McDowell of Altoona and Sean (Samantha) McDowell of Altoona; two great grandsons: Liam and Owen McDowell of Altoona; and a niece, Kathy Sollenberger and her son Carl both of Altoona.

            He was preceded in death by his brothers Carl, Robert, Edgar and William McDowell and a half brother James Allen.

            Paul was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired as a custodian from the Altoona Area School District. He enjoyed crafts, traveling to Myrtle Beach, playing Bingo and spending time with family.

            The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for their excellent care.

            At the request of the deceased there will be no public service.
