Phyllis Jean Smith, 79 of Altoona died Tuesday afternoon April 25, 2017 at UPMC Altoona.

               She was born January 27, 1938 in Altoona the daughter of the late Allen and Mary (Diamond) Wombacher. She married Ronald C. Smith on August 18, 1956 in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2009.

               Surviving are her four children, Donald “Kim” Smith and his wife Tina, Sharon Massaro and her husband Tom, Dave Smith and his wife Michelle and Kevin Smith and his wife Brenda all of Altoona; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers, George, Ron and Larry Wombacher and her dog, Roxie.

               She was preceded in death a son Wayne Smith.

               Mrs. Smith was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.

               She enjoyed crafts, woodworking and quilting.

               Friends will be received from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday April 28, 2017 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue where a funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday April 29, 2017 with Pastor Drew McCaffrey officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park.
