Richard Lee Wood

            Richard Lee Wood, 62 of Altoona died Tuesday evening March 5, 2019 at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care.

            He was born September 28, 1956 in Altoona a son of the late Melvin O. and Verna E. (Reimer) Wood.

            Surviving are two brothers, Dan Wood (Carol) of Altoona; Randy Wood (Sharon) of New Jersey; two sisters, Mona Gottshall (Gib) of Altoona; Tina M. Irwin (Harry) of Bellwood; numerous extended family members; and his Skills of Central PA “family”.

            Mr. Wood was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona.

            He was a 1975 graduate of Altoona Area High School.

            Richard enjoyed cars and fishing and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

            Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Saturday March 9, 2019 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Drew McCaffery officiating. Interment will be made at Fairview Cemetery, Altoona.
