Robert Edward Deihl

Robert Edward Deihl, 88, Altoona, died Sunday April 1, 2018 at Maybrook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

He was born November 21, 1929  in Lilly, son of the late James Rodney and Anna Deihl. In April of 1986, he married Beverley Ann Bulman.

Surviving are his wife; three children: Beth Ann Lechner, Debra Otto and Mark A. Deihl; five grandchildren: Kendy Rose Lechner, Alicia Zemleduck, Kaitlyn Deihl, Dennis Otto Jr. and Robert Otto; a great-grandson, Carter Zemleduck; and two sisters: Esther and Grace Deihl.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Erma Deihl; and two brothers: Ralf and Arthur Deihl.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean conflict. He retired as a welder at Norfolk Southern after 21 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Bavarian Aid Society.

Robert enjoyed country music, gardening, reading Westerns and his dog, Maggie.

A private service will take place at the convenience of the family.
