Sandra Mae “Sandy” Detwiler, 63 of Altoona, died Thursday August 10, 2017 at UPMC Altoona.

               She was born December 18, 1953 in Altoona. A daughter of the late Frederick H. and Jean (Conrad) Simm. She married Charles Detwiler on September 7, 1974 in Altoona, he preceded her in death.

               Surviving are her sister, Sharon L. Seymore of Altoona and a step-mother, Eleanor Simm of Altoona.

               She was preceded in death by a son Edward Detwiler on January 4, 2001 and a brother Edward Simm.  

               She was a laborer for the Salvation Army for fifteen years and previously drove cab for four years.

               Sandy enjoyed bingo, dice, crocheting and loved her cat, Michael.

               Friends will be received Saturday August 12, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, where a memorial service will take place at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Tyler Pepper officiating.

               Internment will take place at Grandview Cemetery.
