Scott Allen “Shoopie” Shoop, 47 of Columbia died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon July 31, 2019 following a bee sting.
He was born November 13, 1971 in Altoona a son of the late Clyde E. Shoop and Sandra J. (Mallery) Shoop Bovard.
Surviving are his mother, Sandra J. Bovard and her husband Bruce of Altoona; a son Hunter Alan Shoop of Lancaster; two sisters, Elizabeth A. Salomie (Joe) and Tracy L. Shoop (Brian Ketrow) both of Altoona; girlfriend Richelle McLasky and her daughter Alisa; nephew Michael Mulraney; nephew Brandon Ford (Jasmine Thomas) and their son Jaxon; niece Madison Pincin; niece Morgan Lafferty; former spouse Carrie Shoop; his dog, Thor; and numerous extended family members.
Scott was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Heather Marie Sollenberger on December 7, 2018.
He attended Fourth Street Church of God when he was in Altoona.
He was employed by Netcom in cell tower construction for over ten years.
Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, the outdoors, and Sunday night football with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday August 8, 2019 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Matthew Hornberger officiating.
Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
