Agnes C. “Nan” Campbell, 93, of Tyrone, formerly of Altoona, died early Sunday morning, March 27, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born on January 8, 1929, in Manchester, England, daughter of James C. and Agnes (Cunningham) Weir. She was the last surviving child of the nine Weir children.
Surviving are four children: Donna L. Blitch (David) of California, Heather Campbell (Charles Buncher) of Kentucky, Andrew C. Campbell (Lisa) of Warriors Mark, and Donn C. Campbell (Nicole) of California; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Royal Air Force, where she served in communications as a switchboard operator. During her service, she met her husband, Donald W. Campbell. They were wed on April 12, 1952 in England. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1994.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, shopping, and attending yard sales.
Nan was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
There will be no public visitation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
