Barbara J. (Grove) Meader

            Barbara J. Meader, 91 of Altoona passed away late Saturday evening March 11, 2023, at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona following a brief illness.

            She was born August 17, 1931, in Altoona a daughter of the late Burton W. and H. Jeannette (Shafer) Grove. She was twice married, first to James R. Clapper and then to William O. R. Meader, both of whom preceded her in death.

            She is survived by a son, David Clapper (Elaina) of Watertown, NY; and a brother, Ralph Grove of Altoona.

            Barbara was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School and she was a life member of Grace United Church of Christ, Altoona.

            At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or public funeral service.

            Interment will be made at Rose Hill Cemetery, Altoona.
