Betty H. Beaver

     Betty H. Beaver, 79, of Altoona died Thursday night, October 28, 2021, at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Altoona.

     She was born January 14, 1942, in Waterford, PA, a daughter of the late Samuel L. and Ethel M. (Vincent) Hockenberry.

     Surviving are three children: a daughter, Dawn Brubaker (David) of Altoona; a daughter, Rhonda Demers (David) of Flinton; a son, John Beaver (Shelly); two grandchildren; Taylor and Matt Beaver; a great grandchild, Cambri Crowell; two sisters, Delores Alley and Esther Michael; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Hockenberry; and a niece Donna Cherry.

     Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Hockenberry.

     Betty was a 1959 graduate of Juniata Joint High School. She retired in 2008 after 42 years’ service from Boyer’s Candies as a packer.

     She loved reading, gardening, baking, animals and spending time with friends and family.

     A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. November 3, 2021, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Ave, Altoona, PA 16602, where a funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Tim Guyer officiating.
